Home invasion video (GRAPHIC): A gun on you at all times? That’s Crazy talk!

A gun on you at all times? That’s Crazy talk!
Well sure, but then again you might think different after watching this video (careful, it is very violent) of a home invasion.
(Thanks Mary for emailing me the video)
As I watched the video I remembered some of the people I know that hardly lock their front door during the day, let alone the glass sliding door on the back yard. Who would be resourceful enough to walk around the house and open that back door? Someone jumping in through an open window? Crazy!

No, its not crazy folks, and violent events are becoming more and more common. I’ll be a jerk here for a second and be completely honest: This is nothing compared to what some of these animals are capable of. Imagine the worst that a monster like this could do (we can’t rightfully call them animals) and then try to imagine its ten times worse, because some of the things these beasts are capable of you can’t even imagine even if you picture your worst nightmare.

Someone told me not long ago that being armed when in your own home is crazy,  over the top. It must be nice to be so naïve and apparently ignore what’s out there.
And no. Its not about living in fear, clenching your gun all day worrying about someone barging into your home. Its about understanding that it “can” happen, and without going insane with fear and stress you adapt so as to be ready for that or any other event where you may have to defend yourself and your loved ones from bodily harm.
Times are changing people. We can either accept it or live in denial. Denial doesn’t work very well if you ask me. These things and much worse happen all day and night, and it keeps happening more and more often.
Check out the “nice” neighborhood where this happened.
We have several key points here. Hardening you home. Sustaining a level of awareness along with good safety habits such as keeping your doors locked at all times. Were legal to do so, get a CCW for defense and make it as much part of your EDC as your wallet, keys , cellphone and maybe a folding knife and flashlight.

Did this woman have enough time to open a gun safe or even reach for one hidden in her dresser? Would you have enough time if someone kicks your door open right this minute?
Take care people.

Thank you FerFal! I am trying to wake up my close family with videos like these, trying to let them know our realities are quickly changing and I don't think they will ever be the same again (especially here in the US).

I would like to personally thank you. Due to reading your site (starting about 2 years ago), it gave me a real quick "wake up call" and prompted me to learn more. I am ex US military......well, never really "ex", the good training and mentality never really leaves you. I had never owned a personal defense weapon, until earlier last year and had forgotten how much fun it was aside from the personal defense aspects of it. Thanks for the good reminders. If it wasn't for reading your site, my first tool choice would probably have been a long gun. But like you have said before, no good if it's not with you.

Desde el "Sur de California", "Que Dios nos Bendiga" and have mercy on us all.

Thanks again,
From faithful reader "GoodDay_2EnterIntoEternity"

I carry when I'm out in the garden, but I think I need to carry inside the house too. It just gets heavy after a while and sometimes gives me a bellyache, but what if I'm on the other side of the house. Some people hide a pistol in each room, but people sometimes come over with children so I shouldn't do that in my house. Also it's expensive to outfit each room with a pistol.

on your body is also the safest place to keep a gun, especially if you have small kids that are too young to learn gun safety.

Wow, that video made my blood boil. That guy is worse than any animal; that was the act of a godless, hardhearted monster. The world would be better off if people like him could be put to sleep like an animal.

As for the lady, she seems to have been caught so fast by this guy that it would have been very hard for her to find anything to defend herself with, even if she did have a gun in her house. It would have been better if the house had been harder to get into in the first place, as you say FerFal.

I agree with the last comment, even if you had a gun you'd probably not have enough time to draw it.

But that just demonstrates the importance of hand to hand fighting skills, a jab to the throat, headbutt, elbow or poke into the eyes, would have given the woman enough time to draw a gun or knife.

My husband and I were just discussing in home carry the other day. I really wanted to see this video, but sadly it is gone from YouTube. Is there any chance you can link a different version, or post the keywords to help find a copy of the footage?
