Have Venezuelans been paying into Social Security and Medicare accounts for 45 years , only to find that the accounts are empty as the workers enter retirement?

Besides, our billionaires like cheap workers -- so they will throw open the US borders and invite the Venezuelans in. That they put their money at risk? That they engage in real "competition" when campaign donations to Congress ensure that any massive profits will be privitized and any massive losses will be socialized? --i.e, dumped off onto the common citizens as massive debt. How many billionaires' sons have been sacrificed in the Middle East protecting Big Oil's foreign investments?

At least the government has to get your votes -- whereas the billionaires discard you like used toilet paper and laugh at NRA idiots waving their guns. They hire deceitful buttkissers in politics and journalism to distract you from what is really going on -- a collapse in real median incomes for middle aged US workers of 17% since 1999. And a massive spike in US suicides --political corruption in the USA having killed more Americans than Al Qaeda.

And no --I'm not defending the Democrats, who are just as corrupt as the Republicans but possess far more two-faced hypocrisy.Don Williamsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8939666320943790100.post-62725235612474251562015-08-07T23:36:38.687-07:002015-08-07T23:36:38.687-07:00You mention socialism in Finland and that South Am...You mention socialism in Finland and that South American socialism isn't socialism- have you read Hayek's "Road to Serfdom?" Venezuela is a pretty classic definition of socialism with state (dictatorship or otherwise) control of capital and the economy.

Finland and other examples of Nordic capitalism/socialism try to strike a balance between capitalism with free markets and privately owned capital and a large degree of state welfare. Socialism really can't exist for long in a desirable state without a healthy capitalist core. This is one reason why Venezuela is collapsing IMO. Maduro is making classic mistakes mismanaging the economy in his quest to destroy the private sector. foobarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02635590118985446858noreply@blogger.com
