I bought one for camping, and I have even used it indoors when I was cooking a lot and needed an extra burner in the kitchen. It's a real bargain, in my opinion. I've heard that the refill canisters can be purchased at an Asian grocery store for a lower price, but I haven't checked that out personally. Thanks for the interesting article.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8939666320943790100.post-43177555048907641992017-05-08T11:09:04.193-07:002017-05-08T11:09:04.193-07:00For the last 30 years, I have installed, in every ...For the last 30 years, I have installed, in every residence that I have owned, a whole house (17 to 45 kw, depending upon building size) generator, with a one-year fuel supply for 24/7 operation. I also keep maintenance/repair supplies in stock for PM if the run-time approached maintenance intervals.

My systems are always wired with transfer switches to prevent backfeeding, and any neighbors are welcome to a few smaller portable gensets and fuel that we keep on hand to help others. The goodwill it creates has a symbiotic effect.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8939666320943790100.post-30593536701480821162017-05-06T03:30:41.947-07:002017-05-06T03:30:41.947-07:00It is interesting to note that the event that trig...It is interesting to note that the event that triggered the problem was an administrative failure, not an alien thermonuclear war.

This is more and more often. I also bought several for the grandkids when we were going camping in the mountains. Several hung around the campsite and one in the tent kept things bright through the night. They are solar-charged and last for hours. Of the dozen or so that I have bought, one was defective, but the company replaced it without requiring the bad one be returned.

LarryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8939666320943790100.post-67758063699092382832017-05-03T07:49:18.551-07:002017-05-03T07:49:18.551-07:00You don't really need to keep the house warm, ...You don't really need to keep the house warm, only yourself. We keep some battery powered fans for sleeping in those conditions. Our location is very humid and hot during the summer, so losing power during those times is pretty ridiculous. I just wondered if you experienced the same.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
