I don't own or want a Glock. I don't own or want an AR15. My "second" hand gun is a .45 colt SAA. My first is a 1911A1 .45 ACP. "A hand gun is your weapon of last resort. Used to fight your way to the long gun you should never have put down in the first place". I have an order of weapons based on range to target and bullet effectiveness. My third consideration is survivability under harsh conditions and quality of build. At that point all plastic frame and aluminium alloy frame weapons are rejected as inferior, as they are subject to fail after prolonged , and sometimes moderate use. The 5.56 is rejected based on bullet ineffectiveness hunting medium game at ranges above 100 meters and its notorious battlefield ineffectiveness. IF I hade to chose a "survival" weapon it would be something I already own , and would be based on my "mission profile" IE what I wanted to get done that day. I have everything from stone knives and wood longbows to AK47 and Mauser stalking rifle----and Glock isn't even on my list.---Ray
