Thank you for your review. I've seen some videos where a tool on the opposite wnd of pen helps steady the knife as a writing instrument.
I keep a Mini-champ on my keychain and lost the plastic scales on it. It is now much less bulky, but the ends of the liner get bent in the pocket. They straighten out when blades are deployed.
As an EDC, I keep a brass aviators compass on a necklace, knotted away several inches from a SAK Classic, which also has a James & Son #14 sail needle and standard sewing needle wrapped with three feet of black thread. All of this is threaded on the same necklace inside a coffee stirrer cut to length. I wrap the needles with a length of plastic wrap to prevent rust. I only remove it when showering - otherwise, it is on my neck 24/7/365.
