Ordered one of these on a lark and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and heft of this inexpensive knife.
My previous favorite cheapie knife was the moraknif craftline for about nine bucks: http://www.amazon.com/Morakniv-Craftline-Allround-Utility-3-8-Inch/dp/B004GAVOUU/ref=sr_1_3?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1375480303&sr=1-3&keywords=mora+knife
The Hultafors costs about three times as much as the mora, (including shipping from amazon) but you get about three times the knife for your money. The first thing you notice is the heft - it's SOLID. Next you see the blade is thicker and wider. It's extremely sharp with a scandi type grind on high quality carbon steel.
Here is a knife well suited for the toughest tasks yet inexpensive enough that you will never worry about losing or breaking it. But you'll likely never be able to break it.
Thanks FerFal for finding yet another great value in gear.
