This is one of your best posts yet. The chicken guy story really hits home. Summary: live where and how you want, but be prepared to leave if necessary and be aware to know when you must do so.
Great post and advice. Very hard to be self sufficient but better is being self reliant in maintaining one's life sources.
Food is a good example, yes learn about raising food....and storing it....
Even the best homesteaders exchange and share to get a complete diet.
As you explained, never know when you have to flee that homestead or garden!
But your knowledge and know how will travel with you!
