I had a Glock trigger safety stick once because of powder or dirt in the trigger mechanism. It still wouldn't have caused a problem as long as you kept your finger off the trigger. I wiggled it a bit to break the grit loose, cleaned it and it was good again. I still check that function from time to time on Glock pistols just to be safe.
