New Template

Guys, yesterday I spent some time goofing with the template.
I apologize for the inconveniences.

I think this one feels more cozy, heck at least looks better for when you sit in front of it at the end of the day with a cup of coffee.( or at least that was my intention)

Let’s give it a try for a few days. If you don’t like it just drop a comment here in this post and we’ll go back to the old one.

Take care.

Ferfal, I like the look of the background. Instead of having it be an image that scrolls off the page as you scroll down, you should make it float in the middle. That way, it's a static background and the text scrolls across it.

In case you need help with it, you can modify the css (style sheet) with the following code (or if you don't have a style sheet, you can add style control in the header part of the html page.

if you want the background to stay still while you scroll, you have to use the "fixed" attribute when applying it in css:

<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
body
{
background-image:
url('smiley.gif');
background-repeat:
no-repeat;
background-attachment:
fixed
}
</style>
</head>

Kind of hard to read once the text scrolls off the tan 'book' background.

Sorry, love your site, but don't like the new format. A lot of the text runs over on the colored background making it impossible to read. It is even worse when I enlarge the font for my old eyes.

Well, as soon as I posted my last comment, you changed it again to a larger grey background. That is much better, even when I enlarge the font it stays on the grey. The border also looks better.

Sorry guys for the inconveniences.
I changed it so the “page” covers all the text on the background.
Hopefully it will read ok and still be easy on the eye, thanks to the creamy Moleskine pages.

I’ll stop messing with it now. Lets see how this works for a couple of days. If you don’t like it we’ll go back to the old template.

Hi, FerFal!
Great Blog, thank you very much for it.
But this design changes not entirely good. Possibly you see your blog in big resolution and in full-screen, but just try to see it in 800x600 or in a window half-width of a screen and you see the problem -- text go over picture and became impossible to read.

Just read some articles, and possibly you found some good solutions for this problem.

Thanks, yes, that seems to be a problem.

I'll go back to the old one until I find a solution.

Great blog! I enjoy reading it though I didn't comment (until now :)
But...too many adverts. While I'm in no way, shape or form against people profiting from useful info they provide, is it really necessary to have such a long column of ads? What is the marginal value of each new AdSense block?
Also, you might want to switch to WordPress if you can be assed (the procedure of moving your content is straightforward). The learning curve is somewhat steeper but you have almost total control over style.
