Ferfal, in the interview you say you "don't understand why they are doing things that make it worse."
It seems to me that "they" (those who actually decide policy) are benefiting quite handsomely from their decisions. These are not stupid people blundering along. The policies which make things worse for the little guy work just great for the folks in control. If the intention was actually to help the lower classes these policies would be insane.
