Hi!
My picks:
1. Swedish crispbread (Sort of a whole grain hard cracker)
2. Peanut butter
3. Mixed dried fruit
These are shelf stable and eaten without preparation, although you can make cooked dishes out of dried fruit if you like. Nutritional balance isn't bad, a little light on protein, but survivable. Has the three food groups people crave: fat, sugar and salt.
Cooking rice will actually consume less energy than cooking pasta. Just heat the water until it boils, add the rice and close the pot with a lid and let the rice sit without heating it. It will cook nicely.
