keychain LED light

Hi FerFal,
Your blog is awesome, a great resource and I have just started to read your book!!
I thought I would pass this along, it's a link to a site where I ordered about 25 of these
hand cranked keychain led flashlights. They are bright and need no batteries!!
Keep up the great work !
Cheers,
Ryan

Thanks for the heads up.
It would be nice to have a review.
I’d rather go with one of the cheaper Led keychain lights instead. They last a long time, and there’s no complex mechanism to depend on.http://countycomm.com/ARES%20SOLED.htm

County Comn has good deals and products as far as I know ( I have no association with them whatsoever, just the word I’ve been hearing for years in various forums) and many of the guys in the forums have bought their cheap LEDs as giveraway and spares. It’s supposedly pretty good too.

Careful with County Comn, they have some of the neatest gadgets, to bad they dont ship outside USA, remember to save your money and just buy what you need. You dont need a ninja wall climbing hook, for example :^)

FerFal,
Have you done research on what the best quality LED keychain is? The $1 CountyComm keychains look like a steal, but that price makes me a little skeptical.

When they first came out, I spent over $20 on a great one, lost it, then replaced it with something under $10 a year later. They were both LED, but incomparable.. not only in terms of battery life, but more importantly in terms of brightness.

Supposedly they are good in spite of the low price, but if you want one of the best and brightest keychain LEDs out there, the Photon is the ones with the best reputation.

I have purchaed the CountyComm LED keychain lights, and they are good, and bright. The ring, or loop, by which they hang on your keychain is plastic, and mine have broken. I cobbled up a metal replacement from an aluminum rivet, so it works better, but something to keep in mind. I just bought 10 LED keychain lights from DealExtreme for $5, and they are super bright. Plus, the attachment loop is very robust. No idea on battery life, though.

That's perfect Dan, thanks for the info.

Hey FerFal, I wanted to ask you about silver. I have bought some silver as an investment / inflation hedge. Now I remember reading you said gold was much more valuable in Argentina post collapse. But I was wondering about the actual differences in price per ounce.

For instance here in the US as I write this, gold is hovering around $900 per ounce and silver is around $12 per ounce. What is the price per ounce in Argentina? Thanks in advance.

Dan & Jedi,

Is that 20243sku the correct one? There are a few 10-pack LED lights under $5.

Carrick,

I'm not positive which ones Dan was referring to, but the ones at that link should do the trick. For that price, there's really not much risk involved if they don't work out.

Based on what I've read, and the fact that he won't shut up about them, the lights at the link below appear to be FerFAL's favorite LED lights:

Thanks man

Carrick,

Just to be sure, I should probably clarify that I was just messing with FerFAL with that second link. In case you didn't follow it, it takes you to "Mini Pig 2 LEDs Flashlight White", which is essentially two LEDs in the snout of a pink and white pig :-)

Anyway, the first link I left was for the legitimate lights that Dan was talking about. As for the second link, with all of this "Swine Flu" going around, you might want to stay away from it! ;-)

Jedi,

Are you trying to say that the piggy light isn't tough?

I thought that model identified swine flu or something... I bought a 100-pack.

...........Anybody wanna buy a pig double-LED light?...

Actually, these are the ones I got:

which have an "on" switch in addition to the momentary "Squeeze on". For an extra 70 cents, it's worth it!

I bought about 20 of these little lights about 7 years ago. I think 2 have gone out. They are very good.

I've given them out to family and friend, and have always been a hit.

Worth every penny
